Instant Coffee

I was visiting my mom on Monday and we were having coffee. She poured me a cup of coffee from the coffee pot, but ran out so she made a cup of instant coffee for Gerald. As I was sitting there I had the smell of the instant coffee tickle my nose and immediately my mind was flooded with memories of my dad. My dad always drank instant coffee. He would take his cup fill it with water from the faucet and mix his coffee. He never cared if it was cold. My dad was awesome. I miss him.

This same type of activity happens when I smell juniper. The smell brings me back in my mind to my Grandmother's back yard in St. Peter. Her back yard was a wonderland of green grass and juniper bushes. It was magical.

As you go through your day today, may your senses bring you to a memory filled with love.
